Dr. Christian Roos, DVM

Professor

Gene Bank of Primates, Primate Genetics Lab, German Primate Center, Leibniz Institute for Primate Research

The Primate Genetics Laboratory at the German Primate Center focuses on assessing biodiversity and reconstructing phylogenetic relationships among primates using molecular genetic methods. Their research also explores phylogeographic patterns, genetic variability, demography, evolution, and primate adaptability to environmental conditions through genome data analysis. The lab’s lead researcher earned a Diploma in Biology (2000) and a Dr. rer. Nat. (2003) from the Technical University of Munich, followed by a Habilitation in Zoology from the University of Göttingen in 2013.
